About Us

My love for dogs runs far and deep as does my love for dog training and competition dog sports.
In my early days of agility we didn’t often train or reward with toys. As my interest for the sport grew, my knowledge evolved and I started experimenting with toys and quickly saw their value. In the beginning I was looking for the perfect tug for my ‘non-tugger’ Mr P. I tried to find the right combination of fleece & rubber to elicit from him that … O my, head wipping, got to get it … tug drive!
I decided to experiment making my own toys with combinations of food, fleece, fur and any object I could get my hands on! One day, not long after, my daughter suggested I sell my creations. And, so it began.
One of the reasons I make tugs is they are a great form of reward to the dog and for us; you can “work less” when you “tug more.” I also love watching the relationship between the dog and handler grow as they engage in tug. From when they are puppies chasing after long tugs with the look of determination & confidence on their faces to when they come out of a ring years later. They still have that same love of the game as the handler nicely caps off the run with a game of tug. Makes my heart soar! My favorite part of creating tugs is to hear back from customers receiving a photo or video clip showing their JOY of the game. Because after it’s all said and done….isn’t that why we’re all here playing these games with our canine companions; reinforcing our joy with the anticipation of their favorite tug as a reward? The satisfaction of finding the right combination of durability (as best we can) and joy is the challenge I enjoy best. Twisted Bliss tugs are made from the heart, by my hands here in the US.
Happy tugging! Naomi
